The Ida B. Wells Middle College High School, located on the UW campus, is a small college preparatory school for underrepresented high school juniors and seniors. Student core liberal arts classes are taught in an integrated, history-based humanities seminar. A critical pedagogical approach shapes the two-year humanities courses with emphasis on critical analysis in reading, research, writing and class discussion. These classes have a college-level content that presents writers who challenge dominant paradigms from a democratic, anti-racist and liberatory scholarship. Hours: 9:00 am- 2:30 pm (30 min lunch) World Language elective option 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Students must have at least 10 credits.
